Media Issue Fan Letters Over Proposed Postage Rates

Mail-dependent media organizations including the Magazine Publishers of America and the Direct Marketing Association Tuesday hailed a decision by the United States Postal Service's Postal Rate Commission to recommend a relatively low postal rate increase when the service implements its new rates in mid-January. The rate for magazines will rise 5.4 percent, the first postage increase for the medium in three-and-a-half years. -- Joe Mandese
