The proliferation of broadband video in recent months has spurred the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to extend its deadline for entries for the Sports Emmy Awards for its new category, the Emmy
Award for outstanding achievement in content for non-traditional delivery platforms. The deadline for this award only is March 1, 2006 for video content that was distributed between Jan. 1, 2005 and
March 1, 2006. Nominations for the 27th Annual Sports Emmy Awards will be announced at the World Congress of Sports, which is being held in New York City on March 29. The awards will be presented at
the 27th Annual Sports Awards ceremony at the Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, on May 1.
