Sites Lose Shoppers With Required Registration

E-commerce retailers, take notice: About one in three holiday shoppers abandoned sites without making a purchase if those sites required registration, according to a new study by research firm Questus. The report, based on a survey of 425 U.S. Web users, also found that one-quarter of shoppers exited sites if it was difficult to find merchandise, while about one in five left if a site didn't seem trustworthy.
