Eric Larsen To Join 'The Indianapolis Star' As Executive Editor

Eric Larsen has been named the executive editor of The Indianapolis Star, effective Jan. 22.

Previously, he was executive editor of Fort Collins Coloradoan.

The IndyStar is seeking a growth and development reporter, a housing reporter and a courts reporter.

The search for a new editor began in October when Bro Krift stepped down to become CEO of Free Press Indiana.

"Eric's leadership experience, his strong commitment to community and providing important journalism makes him the perfect choice to be the next top editor of the Indianapolis Star newsroom," says Mary Irby-Jones, Midwest regional editor for Gannett, who oversees the Indianapolis newsroom.

"I don't hop around a lot," Larsen said at a virtual staff meeting last Thursday. "I was rooted in Idaho for 10 years and rooted in Fort Collins for 12 years. We chose Indianapolis because of the newsroom."
