World's Most Powerful Brands: Microsoft, GE, Coca-Cola

With an estimated value of $62.039 billion, Microsoft is the world's most powerful brand, according to new research released today by WPP Group's Millward Brown unit. The study, which combines consumer research with public financial data to measure the contribution of brand's to the bottom line of corporations, found that GE was the second most powerful brand with a value of $55.934 billion, followed by Coca-Cola ($41.406 billion), China Mobile ($39.168 billion) and Marlboro ($38.510 billion). Google ranked sixth ($37.445 billion) behind Wal-mart ($37.567 billion). -- Joe Mandese
