Dissident Shareholder Proposes Partial Sale Of VNU

Dissident VNU shareholder Eric Knight has proposed a "plan B" scenario for restructuring the Dutch research and publishing giant: a scenario in which the company sells only 30 percent of its equity to a group of private equity firms bidding to take it over. The plan, reported by the Financial Times would allow VNU's shareholders to retain majority control of the company, which would be re-launched under a new name and with new management.
