DHL is upping the ante in the second year of its three-year sponsorship deal with Major League Baseball. The deal designates the express delivery service marketer as the "official express delivery
and logistics provider" of MLB, and the company now provides those services to the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. Beginning this season, DHL has extended the
service to the Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants and 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox. This season the company has also signed former St. Louis Cardinal Bruce Sutter, who will be
inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in August, to support its "DHL Presents the Major League Baseball Delivery Man of the Month Award," which recognizes the most outstanding relief pitcher each
month of the regular season. And later this season, DHL will unveil a "comprehensive program in conjunction with MLB focusing on the history and legacy of the great game of baseball," according to the
company. DHL also will have a presence at the All-Star Game in Pittsburgh this July. DHL spent $50 million on its MLB campaign last year, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
