Neeraj Kochhar has been named vice president/director of search for Starcom MediaVest's SMG Search. Kochhar was previously director of media technology & search for Mediacom's Beyond Interactive, and began his digital marketing career at DoubleClick in 1998.

Kochhar, based in New York, will report directly to Steve Governale, the agency's vice president/managing director. SMG said he will oversee the agency's search marketing operations as well as advising clients on strategies that connect relevant products and services to consumers via organic and paid optimization, evolving search platforms, and advanced analytics.
