YouTube, Disney and Time Warner to Test Video ID Technology

YouTube, with the help of Time Warner and Walt Disney, will soon test a Google-developed video identification technology designed to help copyright owners identify videos that have been uploaded without their permission. The technology, which apparently identifies "unique" attributes in video clips, is expected to be be tested by Time Warner and Disney in about a month. If the test is successful, it will be made available to all content owners later this year.
