McLernon Named President of Upstream

Scot McLernon, former SVP of Sales for CBS Interactive has been named President of Upstream Group, which provides consulting and training services to Internet advertising, marketing and commerce-related businesses.

McLernon works out of the Shelburne, Vermont-based company's west coast office.

McLernon spent 2 1/2 years at CBS where he led sales operations for CBS's digital properties, including CBS.com, UPN.com, CBSNews.com and CBS SportsLine.com. Previous to CBS, he spent seven years leading the sales force of MarketWatch.com.

Entering the business in 1995, he sold some of the Web's initial banners and interactive booths for the web's first online and offline trade show titled "Web Innovation." His accomplishments include introducing day-part advertising to the Web in 2000, creating the At Work Brand Network - a group of like publishers and competitors built to rival the size and reach of the major portals in 2002 and co-founding the Bay Area Interactive Group (BIG) in 2004.
