Reps Charge Media Didn't Vet Iraq Commentators

Two congressional reps are upset over a New York Times story charging the Department of Defense with recruiting ex-military officers to positively talk up our Iraq policies in the media. House Commerce Committee Chairman John Dingell (D-Mich.) and Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) have asked FCC Chairman Kevin Martin to investigate whether news programs violated sponsorship identification requirements, since many ex-generals who went on air had ties with lobbying groups.
