"We really try to figure out what the world is thinking," says Gallup Poll CEO Jim Clifton, who adds that he is troubled by the quality of non-scientific and biased polls that the media--and the public--are currently inundated with. "Going by a poll conducted by Lou Dobbs or Bill O'Reilly is senseless," says Clifton. "It's only a gimmick to engage their viewers." About one million users went to the free portion of the Web site last month.
