Modern Bride: "I Do" to Record-Setting Issue

  • September 6, 2000
It's honeymoon time once again for Modern Bride as advertisers toss the bridal title a record-setting bouquet of ad pages for the October/November 2000 issue. Filled with 514 advertising pages, the issue is the largest October/November issue in the magazine's 51-year history, readily surpassing its previous record of 463 pages set in last year's 50th anniversary issue by 51 pages, or 11%. New advertisers in Modern Bride for the very first time include Reed & Barton, Banana Boat, D'Annunzio and Hearts on Fire jewelers. The steady climb by Modern Bride up the ad page ladder is reflected in a year-to-date advertising gain of five percent. Company officials say the current prosperity at Modern Bride Magazine is due to an overall integrated marketing effort that encompasses the entire Modern Bride Group, which includes ModernBride.com, WeddingNetwork.com, Your Prom, the Modern Bride Connection (regional bridal publications), and the flagship title. "There is no greater example of Primedia CEO Tom Rogers' vision of fully integrating online and offline businesses than the Modern Bride Group, said Doug Fierro, group publisher. "As a result of this integration, along with our expansion internationally, we are beginning to see impressive results like these in our ad page growth and in our ability to attract new advertisers."
