The Internet ratings for the week ending September 3 from Nielsen//NetRatings, reports a jump in traffic to the NFL.com site as football fans across the country tuned in and logged on to the Web to check out their favorite teams.

Visitors to NFL.com, the official Web site for the National Football League, soared to 1.6 million for U.S. home Internet users during the week ending September 3, a 46% gain from the previous week. More male surfers visited the Web site during the week, making up 78% of the total Internet traffic for NFL.com. Female football fans logging on to the site comprised 22% of the traffic.
