eBay, the online marketplace, has launched a classifieds service, eBay Seller Classifieds. This service will allow sellers to advertise their items in a dedicated eBay sellers section of newspaper
classifieds. Every person who is selling something on eBay will have the opportunity to use this section, and for a price, can include product information, item number, title, and starting bid price.
Sellers can also create ads promoting their eBay user ID's. eBay Seller Classifieds is powered by AdStar.com, and is currently offered in the Star Tribune (Minneapolis and St. Paul). The St.
Petersburg Times, in Florida, will be the next paper to pick up the classifieds. eBay will determine expansion plans based on the user adoption in these two markets.
