  • Making The Most Of Your Online Advertising Budget in Marketing: Causes on 08/25/2014

I know from experience working at a nonprofit that money for advertising is always tight. I am often confronted with tough decisions of what type of advertising would get the most bang for my organization's buck. The answer? It depends on what your goals are.

  • Updates To AdWords Ad Extensions in Marketing: Causes on 07/28/2014

In the past, I have written about many of the most popular AdWords ad extensions, like sitelinks, call extensions, location extensions, and social extensions. However, AdWords is constantly trying out new ad extensions in its beta program and rolling out successful extensions so that everyone can use them. Because of this, there are often new ad extensions available that cause-related marketers are not aware of! Let's see what's new.

  • Adventures In Texting  in Marketing: Causes on 06/23/2014

A few months ago, I attended the 2014 Nonprofit Technology Conference and wrote a post about how several sessions discussed SMS marketing, or texting your constituents. I came back from the conference fresh and excited about the possibilities, and started a small texting campaign at my nonprofit around one of our upcoming annual events. Since I originally wrote about the hypotheticals of texting your constituents, I thought I should write a follow-up post on what we've learned so far (and so that you can learn from my mistakes!).

  • How Google Tag Manager Can Save Your Tracking in Marketing: Causes on 05/27/2014

Over the years, Google has introduced many useful tools and programs. Gmail and Adwords have to be on the top of my list, but in recent months Google Tag Manager has also joined my list of favorites. If you do any sort of tracking for your online marketing and you don't already use Google Tag Manager, you're missing out! In a nutshell, it streamlines all of your tracking so that you only have to ask your developers to put one tracking code on your whole website. Oh, and did I mention that it's free?

  • Remarketing Comes To Facebook in Marketing: Causes on 02/24/2014

Rejoice! Remarketing has come to Facebook. Okay, that headline is a bit misleading, since technically up until now you could use a third party to remarket with FBX. But now anyone can do it - even the nonprofit with only five employees and no money to pay a third party.

  • Facebook Mobile App Install Ads in Marketing: Causes on 01/27/2014

One of the great new features in Facebook Advertising is mobile app install ads. If your nonprofit has a great mobile or tablet app, Facebook is a good way to increase awareness and encourage downloads.

  • Your 2014 Online Marketing Plan in Marketing: Causes on 12/23/2013

Hope you all are having a wonderful giving season. This being the busiest time of year for nonprofits, I'm guessing that your 2014 marketing plan has been put on the back burner for now. But I'm here to help! If you need ideas for new places to start on Jan. 1 (or Jan. 2, let's be honest), then look no further.

  • Remarketing Comes To Facebook by Lauren Kade (Marketing: Causes on 02/24/2014)

Hi Dale! The new custom audience is strictly for website traffic and not in-app traffic. I did some research online, though, and it looks like this article thinks you could do some in-app retargeting using the Facebooks SDK? I'll have to research it more and do a future post! :) http://wearesocialmedia.gr/facebook-extends-its-remarketing-services/
