  • February 11, 2009
The U.S. Senate allocated $7 billion to broadband in the version of the stimulus bill it passed Tuesday.

The Senate bill, like the $6 billion allocation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives last month, includes provisions aimed at insuring that new networks built with stimulus funds follow net neutrality principles.

The House and Senate are expected to reconcile the bills today.--Wendy Davis
