Macy's Expands Annual Flower Show

  • April 1, 2009
Macy's is expanding its Flower Show -- an annual spring event since 1946 - to Philadelphia this year, bringing it to a total of five markets. (The show first began at Macy's in California as a promotion for the fragrance department, and also includes New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and Minneapolis.)

New this year: Floral "tablescapes," with designs from the Martha Stewart Collection, Mikasa, Lauren Home, Rebecca Moses, Waterford and Wedgwood. And in New York, the main attractions are three pairs of 10-feet-tall flamingo topiaries, constructed from flowers.--Sarah Mahoney
