Zynga Sees 10 Million Social Gamers a Day

Zynga, a leading game developer for social networks, claims it is now seeing more than 10 million daily active users across all of its games. Started in January 2008, the San Francisco-based company is funded by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, IVP, Union Square Ventures, Foundry Group, Avalon Ventures, Pilot Group, Reid Hoffman and Peter Thiel.

Games such as "Mafia Wars," "YoVille," and "Scramble" have driven Zynga's growth over the past year to make it largest developer of social network games (most apps are on Facebook, but are also available on other popular services like MySpace and Bebo.

"To think that a city the size of London is playing our games on a daily basis is incredible," said Mark Pincus, CEO of Zynga.
