Recently, Google was granted a patent where "a search session is compared to the statistical search patterns," writes Bill Slawski. In this patent, "click logs and query logs are processed to identify
search patterns."
Slawski provides examples on how the patent might work. He explains that the patent suggests Google may choose to adjust the ranking for a specific URL based on
click patterns and query logs, along with related terms in search sessions.
