Volkswagen Wants To Buff U.S. Image

Volkswagen America CEO Jonathan Browning said the German automaker is making image part of its goal to building share in the U.S. Browning said that while the automaker has a heritage in the U.S. with vehicles like the Microbus and Beetle, "somewhere along the way, we lost our bearings." He said the company wants to remake VW from off-beat and niche to a high-volume competitor to brands like Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet and Honda.
