Los Angeles-based American Apparel is opening a new store in Westfield London, as part of the company's efforts to expand in the UK. The apparel retailer has two store-in-stores that opened earlier this month at UK chain Selfridges, bringing the total count there to 18.
The company says the mall outlet at Westfield will showcase both womenswear and unisex styles.
American Apparel said the spot gets some 30 million people per year. "Westfield London is one of the largest shopping centers in all of the United Kingdom," said Marsha Brady, creative director for American Apparel, in a statement -- adding that the retailer has deals with Westfield Malls in the U.S.
The new London store will be the fourth store opened by American Apparel in Europe in the past year, including two Selfridges shop-in-shops in the United Kingdom and a store at the Galeries Lafayette in Lille, France.
