Holiday Online Spending Surpasses $37B

Retail e-commerce spending for the entire 2011 holiday season, spanning November and December, reached $37.2 billion, a 15% increase versus last year and an all-time record for the season, according to comScore. The increase was in line with the Web research firm’s spending growth projection for the season. Ten individual shopping days surpassed the $1 billion mark, led by Cyber Monday, which ranked No. 1 for the second consecutive year -- at $1.25 billion.
