PGATour.com Reaches Milestone One Billion Page Views

  • September 4, 2003
PGATour.com celebrated a landmark in page view traffic for the year over the weekend at the Deutsche Bank Championship. For the first time since its inception six years ago, one billion page views have been recorded in a calendar year, which reflects a 40% increase over the page views at the same time last year. PGATOUR.COM, which is co-produced by the PGA TOUR and SportsLine.com, Inc, a leading sports Internet media company and publisher of CBS SportsLine.com, has been averaging approximately 115 million page views and over one million unique visitors every month in 2003. With traffic increasing an average of 40% each year, this date has been a long-anticipated record. The excitement of major events, including Annika Storenstam at the Bank of America Colonial, the launch of TOURCast, an improved Leaderboard and an increased interest in golf have been the primary reasons for its dramatic growth. In addition to the milestone of one billion page views, traffic for the PGA Championship reached record highs, as well. Page views totaling almost 67 million were recorded for the week, which was an increase of 32% over 2002.
