'Sale' is More Effective Than 'Save' In Email Subject Line: Adestra Report

Wondering which words to use in your subject line? Adestra has published a new report called that analyzes the subject lines of emails and reveals the best and worst words to use to get a customer to open an email. Not surprisingly, 'Sale' is a popular term and it garners on average a 23.2% open rate. It's a better choice than 'Save' which has a much lower open rate average of 3.4%. Regardless of which words marketers choose, testing is always the best way to optimize a campaign.

The report also revealed that daily and weekly emails have a higher average open rate than monthly emails. 'Weekly' generated an average open rate of 27.1% and 'Daily' generated an average 27.8% open rate.
