V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai, the inventor of email and current faculty lecturer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, admits that email has turned everyone into secretaries, as the
average person spends 38 percent of their workday managing email. To address this issue, Ayyadurai predicts that future email systems will integrate artificial intelligence that will
automatically sort the email inbox, by filing and archiving and even reacting to incoming email.
