Xaxis' Moore Named Chairman Of IAB Tech Lab

David Moore, president of WPP Digital and chairman of Xaxis, was on Monday named chairman of the board for the IAB Technology Laboratory. Additionally, Scott Cunningham has been promoted to senior vice president, technology and ad operations at the IAB, and general manager of the IAB Tech Lab.

The IAB Tech Lab was founded in September 2014 as a nonprofit research and development consortium for the digital ad industry.

Per a release, the Tech Lab’s 2015 agenda includes the creation of a “code bank” to simplify the implementation of IAB standards and a collaboration with the Digital Advertising Alliance to create new AdChoices programs -- i.e. consumer privacy options -- for video and mobile advertising, among other things. The Tech Lab is also looking to create an “IAB Standards Certification” program.

“This industry requires strong global tech standards and solutions if we’re going to be able to meet the demands of today’s marketers,” Moore asserted in a statement.

Moore has served on the IAB board of directors for 15 years, per a release. He served as chairman from 2009-2011.

Moore stepped into his current positions at WPP after Xaxis acquired 24/7 Media one year ago. He was founder, chairman and CEO of 24/7 Media.
