Big changes are afoot at some of Medium’s more popular properties, including Matter, Backchannel, The Nib, and The Message. “Medium now wants to become more of a social network rather than
a publishing platform,” Business Insider reports. “But this comes at a great cost to its full-time and freelance staff.” Medium is also reportedly shuttering Re:form, the
design-focused site sponsored by BMW.
