CNET writer Jessicah Delcort revealed that her Gmail account was recently hacked into. Delcourt revealed that she got fake messages that appeared to come from Instagram and Microsoft to her email which hadn’t registered for these accounts. After this, she started receiving email for the game watching service Twitch and Music.ly. Trying to put a stop to it, she contacted Google who referred her to their FAQ and a nine point security checklist. According to Delcourt, the attack was likely a mailbot that had signed her up for multiple websites and newsletters.
