Trinity Mirror, publisher of the
Daily Mirror, is in exclusive talks with Richard Desmond to buy Richard Desmond’s Northern and Shell titles, including the
Daily Express,Sunday Express and
Daily Star, as well as magazines including
OK!, New! and
Star. The deal is believed to be worth approximately GBP130m. The move comes after
negotiations failed for a more expansive deal to join the publishers' back office and sales businesses earlier this year.
