Return Path Debuts New Troubleshooting Tool

Return Path Monday launched a service that allows e-mail marketers to troubleshoot potential problems with their messages before sending them. The feature, "Campaign Preview," shows how messages will render in six different e-mail services: Lotus Notes 6.5.4; AOL 9; Hotmail; Outlook 2003; Outlook Express 6; and Yahoo! Mail. If problems appear, marketers can adjust their creative. About half a dozen marketers have been testing the product in beta for the last six weeks, said George Bilbrey, general manager of delivery assurance at Return Path. The new service also will evaluate whether ads are likely to pass muster with seven spam filters, including MessageLabs, Postini, and BrightMail.
