Chick-fil-A is testing a Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich this week in Indianapolis and Lexington, Kentucky.
The sandwich includes a lemon herb-marinated boneless breast of chicken, pepper jack cheese, green leaf lettuce, pickle chips and bacon hand-tossed in brown sugar and pepper, served in a buttered and toasted, maple-flavored brioche bun.
The sandwich will be available for a limited time in both cities. The price hasn’t been disclosed, but Chick-fil-A released a Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich in 2022 with bacon, grilled chicken, a toasted bun with Colby Jack cheese, BBQ sauce and brown sugar on the bacon for about $6.95.
Chef Cristy Cook created the sandwich. “Throughout my childhood, I always loved maple syrup, so I was thrilled to incorporate it into our newest chicken entrée, the Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich,” Cook said in a news release.
This is the first time the company has tested a grilled sandwich in four years. The last one was the Grilled Spicy Deluxe in 2019.
Chick-fil-A is also expanding where the Spicy Chicken Biscuit is served, offering it worldwide. It is slated to become a permanent menu item, according to the company.
The launch comes after Chick-fil-A Inc. reported record revenues for 2022. Revenues reached $6.4 billion compared with $5.8 billion in 2021, an increase of 10.6 percent. After-tax earnings for 2022 were $1.1 billion, compared with $1.2 billion the year before.
