They Score, You Win: Chipotle To Give Away Entrees During Soccer Games

Official U.S. Soccer partner Chipotle Mexican Grill has launched its “Bowls for Goals” free entrée promotion for the second year with the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team (USWNT).

Via the USWNT’s Twitter account, the company will give away 2,500 Chipotle entrees. During the Group Stage of the upcoming international tournament, when the team scores a tying, go-ahead, or lead extending goal, a code for a free entrée will be revealed on the USWNT Twitter channel. The first 2,500 fans to text the code to 888222 will win.

Chipotle has also partnered with USWNT stars Rose Lavelle and Sophia Smith to create behind-the-scenes content and introduce menu items inspired by their go-to training meals. The Rose Lavelle and Sophia Smith Bowls (both featuring chicken, brown rice and beans) will be available in the Chipotle app and on Chipotle.com only for a limited time.

Lavelle and Smith’s fancentric online and app video content will include highlights of their journey as they prepare for the world’s largest women’s soccer event.

Additionally, Chipotle will also work on exclusive video content with nonprofits including Football for the World Foundation, whose mission is improving children’s quality of life through soccer. The content will include interviews with Lavelle and Smith, 'Inside the Match' segments with fans at the game and gameday footage.

Chipotle also recently launched a support initiative for Folds of Honor, a nonprofit that funds $5,000 college scholarships to families of America's fallen and disabled service members. Through August 14, 2003, Chipotle will have the “Round Up for Real Change” feature on its app as well as in-store promotions where customers donate the change from their food bill.

According to Placer.ai’s recent report, the number of year-over-year visits to Chipotler rose, with the chain outperforming the wider fast-casual dining category. June 2023 visits per venue to Chipotle were 8.4% higher than in June 2022, while the fast-casual category saw 2.1% visit per venue growth during the same period.
