Jennifer H. Cunningham To Serve As Executive Editor Of 'Newsweek'

Newsweek has appointed Jennifer H. Cunningham as executive editor, responsible for overseeing news content and strategy. 

Previously, Cunningham was editor in chief of Business Insider and led the newsroom to a Pulitzer Prize in 2022. Cunningham headed a global team of journalists at bureaus in the US, UK, and Singapore.

“We are delighted to have Jennifer lead our global newsroom,” says Newsweek CEO Dev Pragad. “I can’t think of a more qualified journalist to help drive our editorial coverage.” 

Cunningham has covered several major events as a journalist, including the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting, Hurricane Sandy in New York City and New Jersey, and the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections. 

Cunningham will report to Nancy Cooper, global editor in chief of Newsweek.
