Smirnoff Hires Drinks Guru As Part Of Long-Term Promotion

The next phase of Smirnoff's unique promotion for its vodka brands is complete. In March, the company said it was looking for an "enthusiastic drinks guru" to serve as an ambassador for the brands and an expert on the culture of cocktails. Now, after considering more than 60 applicants, a winner has been chosen. His name is Cameron Bogue, a Las Vegas resident, and he will be paid a $50,000 salary. He is expected to identify the hottest trends in the world of drinks, culinary fare and entertaining. His job description also includes submitting two Smirnoff Cocktail Trends Reports on his findings. He will also travel the country, representing the company at bars and events to drum of interest and garner attention. The Smirnoff Web site is being updated to include a section for Bogue that will feature his bio and all things mixology that he discovers in his travels. Bogue has a background in mixology, creating cocktails as an adult based on his father's epicurean delights. He has opened a few bars, designed cocktail menus, trained bar staff for top nightclubs and lounges and has earned certificates from the Wine Education Guild and other culinary programs, Smirnoff said.
