Cable TV is about to get even scarier. In partnership with Sony and Lionsgate, Comcast is starting FearNet, an video-on-demand horror channel that will allow users to buy or rent horror flicks for
viewing on a PC. In addition to the cable channel, which will be free for Comcast customers, FearNet will also launch on the Web and on mobile devices. Movie rentals on FearNet will cost 99 cents and
download-to-own titles, $4.99 to $9.99. Among the 100 titles on offer so far: "Carrie," "An American Haunting," and "Bug." The site also includes trailers, a community section and news and reviews.
Online video distributor Guba is providing the online video store behind the FearNet site.
