Viewpoint Corporation last week announced it conducted a reduction of force in line with its plan to "achieve a flatter, more nimble business infrastructure." The company eliminated more than 20
positions, 50% of which were senior positions of vice president or higher, including Mark Gray, executive vice president of sales. Michael Hoydich, vice president of sales, will assume Gray's
responsibilities as manager of the direct sales force. "This is the first step in achieving our goal of driving a flat, focused and accountable organization," said CEO Jay Amato. "Moving forward, we
expect to realize cost savings, but more importantly, we will focus on driving a proactive organization to aggressively address market needs with superior leadership and technology innovation."
