Bravo Gets TelevisionWithoutPity.com

Bravo is entering more of the Internet world by acquiring TelevisionWithoutPity.com, a hip site of pithy, critical reviews of TV programs.

The cable net says it will add to its array of Web sites, some of which focus on entertainment and TV programming, such as BravoTV.com, Trio's BrilliantButCancelled.com, OUTzoneTV.com and getTRIO.com.

The "Brilliant But Cancelled" effort was the centerpiece of Trio, the former cable channel that aired critically acclaimed TV shows.

Bravo says the site will add to its Internet presence.

TelevisionWithoutPity attracts more than 1 million unique monthly visitors who spend an average of almost 13 minutes on each visit and get approximately 30 million page views a month, according to comScore MediaMetrix. Bravo says this raises its Web visibility by more than 27% in unique visitors, and more than doubles total page views.

Bravo also acquired Fametracker.com, a pop-culture site started by the founders of TelevisionWithoutPity. The site takes humorous looks at the worth of celebrities.
