The Wall Street Journal. Several billionaires, including Ron Burkle, were approached by the Dow Jones union--but a new player has
entered, Brian Tierney, who suggested he would pay as much as Murdoch for the property. Tierney already owns
The Philadelphia Inquirer and
Philadelphia Daily News.
