Paramount Domestic Television said Monday that it had sold The Insider, a new half-hour daily syndicated newsmagazine series scheduled to debut in the fall of 2004 to the CBS owned-and-operated
stations and other stations representing half the country. The Insider is sold in seven of the top 10 markets, including stations in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas and
Boston. Paramount said the show will report from an “insider” perspective, using first-person interviews, behind-closed-door reports and inside information from knowledgeable informed sources and
contacts. “The Insider, which is already a segment on Entertainment Tonight, will serve as the perfect development platform, much like the experience we had with Dr. Phil on The Oprah Winfrey Show,”
said a Paramount Television executive.
