Ratings Jump for Imus Return

  • December 11, 2007
Arbitron performed a special tabulation of radio ratings results that shows Don Imus' return produced a big ratings increase for WABC-FM, the New York station that broadcasts the shock jock's new show. According to Arbitron, WABC's audience for its 6 a.m.-10 a.m. timeslot increased 87% in size, compared to the average of the 10 previous Mondays. In addition to indicating the continued popularity of the controversial talk show host, the tabulation is a timely demonstration of the quick, precise results that PPM is capable of delivering. That's a boon for Arbitron, which faces criticism about missing its own sample size targets, which has reflected badly on the accuracy of ratings. --Erik Sass
