NY Sun Goes To Phase Two

  • November 1, 2002
The New York Sun launched will launch a higher page count and a lower newsstand price (just 25¢) beginning Monday, November 4th. Readers can also "expect a different point of view," the paper's new mission statement, as the Sun “has expanded and deepened its editorial staff, adding some of the most respected news editors, columnists and writers in journalism,” including former New York Post managing editor, Stuart Marques; Dina Temple-Raston, former Bloomberg White House correspondent; noted business columnist, Dan Dorfman; legendary New York columnist, Jack Newfield; noted sports writer, Wallace Matthews, and Slate.com's founding editor, Michael Kinsley, among others. These changes are part of the second stage of the new daily's launch which debuted this past April. The Sun will also expand its distribution operations to 5,000 retail outlets, throughout NYC and the surrounding suburbs, and boost its daily press run by 30 percent.
