Local.com, MediaSpan Form Partnership

Local. com will provide its local search platform to 1,500 newspaper, TV and radio Web sites via a new partnership with online management and marketing firm MediaSpan, whose clients include Citadel/ABC, Sun Media, Gannett, Scripps and Media General. Local.com's Local Connect platform provides sites with a private label local business search directory.

In another alliance between an online content management firm and a local search engine player, Localeze has partnered with GenieKnows.com to provide the Canadian-based firm's GenieKnows Local service with 16 million U.S. business listings. Separately, GenieKnows.com said it has partnered with Click Forensics to track and rate pay-per-click traffic for its entire network of publishing partners.

Finally, another local search company, LocalBizNOW, said on Thursday that it had become an authorized seller of Google AdWords. The firm serves small to mid-sized business clients.
