Publicis' Starcom MediaVest Group Thursday named Nancy Mullahy director of SMG Performance Marketing, a new unit that will develop and oversee performance marketing expertise throughout the SMG
network. Mullahy, will continue her role as executive vice president-managing director on SMG's Coca-Cola Co. account, a client, which along with General Motors, has had an acute focus on performance
marketing platforms and metrics. The new unit centralizes the performance marketing functions - including customer acquisition, sales and lead generation - handled by SMG Search, Halogen and the SMG
Directory Marketing organizations. Jill Balis, former e-marketing executive for online travel services marketer Orbitz, was hired as part of the new organization. SMG Search, Halogen and SMG Directory
Marketing will continue to serve their clients and operate independently, led by current officers Steve Governale, John McNamara and Kathleen DeCaire-Aden, respectively.
