To promote DVD sales, Fox and MGM Home Entertainment have tapped ad technology provider Oddcast for a new online viral marketing campaign, "Insert Yourself Into The Terror."
The
campaign uses New York-based Oddcast's 3D VideoStar technology and lets users upload a picture of themselves, or their friends, and integrates the photo into a video clip from one of several classic
horror films.
The application is launching with six films including "The Omen," "The Fly," "The Hills Have Eyes 2," "Jeepers Creepers 2," "Child's Play" and "Alien."
Users will have the
ability to purchase the DVDs directly from the site and also forward their scary movie clip, starring themselves, directly to friends and family.--Gavin O'Malley
