Anheuser-Busch InBev Cuts 1,400 U.S. Jobs

  • December 8, 2008
Confirming weeks of rumors, management of the newly formed Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer, announced on Monday that it will cut about 1,400 jobs, reducing its U.S. workforce by approximately 6%. About 75% of the eliminated jobs are at Anheuser Busch's former headquarters in St. Louis. Brewery jobs are largely unaffected.

These job cuts are in addition to about 1,000 jobs eliminated as part of a retirement incentive program that was originally launched by A-B as part of its efforts to ward off an InBev takeover.--Karlene Lukovitz
