Forget about the video iPod for a moment. The next hot trend in mobile/portable entertainment is mobile games, or games played via wireless handsets. AirPlay Network Inc., a San Francisco-based startup, plans to introduce a line of wireless phones that are linked to live TV broadcasts.

If the FCC intended to scare TV networks into sanitizing broadcast programming by imposing staggering multimillion-dollar "indecency" fines, the tactic worked. Almost. The feds have chased portions of the new WB show "The Bedford Diaries" off the air--and onto the Web.

On Monday night, I dropped in on a 212 event to hear from John Battelle. Earnest and driven, Battelle writes the popular Searchblog, penned the book The Search, and runs Federated Media, an online network of independent authors and bloggers.

This morning, just several days after disgruntled Web publisher KinderStart filed a lawsuit accusing Google of monopolistic behavior in a lawsuit, research company eMarketer released a report predicting that Google's share of paid search revenue will grow to 57 percent this year.

Last Friday, a CBS Digital Media exec dropped a not-so-subtle reminder that CBS SportsLine launched its biggest live streamed product "in the history of the Internet." Well, this here Minute is skeptical of anyone who says "biggest ever" or "first," as there have been at least a few other blockbuster streaming events in recent months.

Mea culpa! The Minute received a flurry of messages in response to Wednesday's missive, dubbed "Books 'n' Dates." It seems this here Minute goofed when we said that Waylon Jennings sang "Lookin' For Love."

As anti-spam technology improves, the ability of companies to measure the results of their e-mail campaigns is deteriorating.

"Looking for love in all the wrong places," Waylon Jennings crooned. But some people are looking for and finding love in all the right places--like, for starters, bookstores.

This morning, none other than Bill Gates added his voice to the proponents of behavioral targeting.

So, it seems that the traffic to Oscar-related Web sites was down. TV viewership of the awards show was down. The show was a snooze. And the gowns, well, they were a bore. But, hey, the films were great, at least according to this here Minute. We loved the films.
