R/GA Appoints CD With Focus On Nokia

Looking to sharpen its digital edge, Interpublic Group digital agency R/GA has appointed Liz Sivell as the new creative director of its London office, with a particular focus on the global Nokia e-marketing account.

Reporting to Executive Creative Director James Temple, Sivell will be responsible for developing conceptual and strategic direction for Nokia, along with other accounts.

With regard to the digital industry in particular, Temple said, "Liz has extensive brand knowledge and experience."

From mid-2007 through August of this year, Sivell served as creative director for Profero in London, where she specialized in introducing clients to the digital world. In particular, she oversaw the C.O.I-FRANK account, where she spearheaded campaigns to prevent drug abuse among teens.

From a large and diverse pack, Forrester Research recently singled out R/GA -- along with WPP's VML, Sapient Interactive, and WPP's Ogilvy Interactive -- as the top interactive agencies. Said Forrester analyst Sean Corcoran, it is thanks to "their overall strategic skills, execution and development capabilities, measurement and analytics skills, social and emerging media prowess, unique company visions, and high client ratings."

Prior to Profero, Sivell served as creative director for OneDigital in Australia, where clients included Dior, EMI, HSBC, Nestlé, and Microsoft. While there, she also developed an interactive online ordering system for Pizza Hut Direct.

R/GA London, which operates as R/GA's European headquarters, opened three years ago and has grown to 41 full-time employees.
