Chicago Loses 2016 Olympics, Decision Hits Media Hard

Chicago did not get the 2016 Summer Olympics Games; Rio de Janeiro did. The loss has a major impact on media and marketers, as many hoped to benefit from the increased ratings that result from a local Olympics. The U.S. Olympic Committee also hoped that a Chicago pick would renew interest in launching an Olympic-themed cable channel, reports Ad Age.
