Ikea Phasing Out Incandescent Light Bulbs

Ikea's lighting aisle won't be carrying incandescent light bulbs any more. As new energy-efficiency rules kick in and consumers become more interested in saving money than getting that warm glow from traditional light bulbs, the retail chain won't be selling old bulbs for much longer.

Though the new rules don't start till next year, California this year will mandate new labeling rules. Said Mike Ward, Ikea's U.S. president in a statement, "Eliminating incandescents is just one simple way for Ikea customers to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gases."
